When I first put up this blog I had absolutely no idea what I was doing or if I would even like doing it. I can happily say that I truly love taking pictures of my food and writing about it. But what really thrills me the most are all the lovely comments from my readers. Readers who span the globe on 6 continents, reaching out and visiting me in my little corner of cyberspace here in New York City. I want to thank all of you who have been visiting me from the beginning and for those of you who are new to my blog. Old friends and new friends who I have met along the way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful comments on here and in private messages and emails. I truly appreciate them and it inspires me to cook more.

Thank you,

Sandi

The Well Stocked Pantry

Every good cook/chef has a well stocked pantry. I know that I always make sure I have the most basic ingredients on hand. I will be listing what I think should be included in the well stocked pantry and show you what mine looks like.

The basic pantry should always include: chicken, beef, vegetable stock, dried herbs and spices, different types of dried pasta, olive oil, sesame and vegetable oil, white, wine, cider, rice wine and balsamic vinegars, honey, nuts, tomato sauce, canned tomatoes, sugar,  flour, rice both white and brown, couscous, peanut butter, ketchup, chili sauce, raisins and canned beans such as chick peas, kidney and black.   This is what I would consider the basic pantry and if you look at my picture you can see that I have much more than that. With the basic items you can make many good recipes.

  1. Hi Sandi,

I'm so glad that you stopped by and found my blog, and began to follow. I added you too, looks like I'm #6, isn't that fun? Regarding the pantry, it looks like you and I are on the same wave length as to what should be included! YAY! Two last thoughts before I go: Are you a fan of Diana Gabaldon's historic romance novels (I read your profile interests) and lastly, I LOVE NEW YORK!!!!, Ciao new friend, Roz (aka Bella)
